Good News – Grant awarded

The Museum is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant of £54,800 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.  The project will start in June 2021 and will focus on strengthening the organisation, ensuring it can continue to preserve and display the heritage of Nidderdale into the future. It will also include forward planning and working towards re-accreditation as a Museum, and will look into replacing its current collections database which holds details of over 32,000 items.
A Project Officer and Trainee Placement will lead the project and will firstly concentrate on a recruitment and training programme for volunteers. The Covid crisis has highlighted the fact that many of the Museum’s volunteers are elderly, and we recognise that a wider range of volunteers is essential.  If you are interested, please get in touch.
