Museum Chairman reads at Ripon Cathedral

The Museum was recognised as a part of the local community when its Chairman, Sue Welch was invited to the Christmas Eve Festival of 9 Lessons and Carols in 2025 and asked to read one of the lessons. The Cathedral was packed with 1400 people and a full choir and organ performed various pieces in between the Lessons in this magnificent setting. Sue said ‘I was honoured to be asked to read and it was a great experience. Standing in the pulpit looking out over that large congregation was amazing. My great-grandparents were married in the Cathedral so I like to think they were looking down on me and that I ‘did them proud’, as well as the Museum.’
