Nidderdale Museum has secured a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to carry out a project over 15 months from June 2021. The project is ‘Sustaining Nidderdale’s Heritage’ and will concentrate on putting the Museum on a firm footing to move forward into the future. The project includes: recruitment and training of a wide range of volunteers; working on policies and procedures to secure re-accreditation in The Arts Council scheme; establishing a business plan and digital strategy; and scoping a replacement collections database to hold the details of the 32,000 items owned by the Museum.
The Museum is therefore seeking to appoint two members of staff to work on this project – a Project Officer for 2 days per week to lead the project, and a young person as a Trainee Placement for 2 days per week to assist with the project and general Museum work.
Both roles need enthusiastic people, with some experience of the heritage world and working on projects, and self-motivation and organisational abilities.
Job descriptions and person specifications for the Project Officer and Trainee Placement can be downloaded here.
If, after reading these, you are still interested in applying for either post, please e-mail the Chairman, Sue Welch, via firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form or to arrange an informal chat or tour of the Museum.
